A short trip north to Scotland to speak to a group in the cycle tourism sector who are meeting here in Balloch, Scotland for a EuroVelo 1 themed conference.
The hard work for me was last night and the talk seemed to go down well. Having cycled long stretches of the EuroVelo 1, predominantly back in 2015 en route from Tarifa to Nordkapp, hopefully I was able to offer the delegates an insight into what cycling the route is actually like on the ground and something that is relevant to the discussions in their meetings.
Today is a day of pottering around Balloch. Located on the shore of Loch Lomond (or thereabouts) it is clearly a mecca for tourists in the summer. This being November, itโs now a little off season but I quite like that. The views across Loch Lomond yesterday evening were stunning and I suspect another wander in that direction will be on the cards for today.
My audience:

Not a bad place for a conference, eh! And a nice, mostly car-free, ride along to Balloch from Glasgow. Did you do the towpath from Glasgow? Nice little jaunt. The old main road up the west side of Loch Lomond, now the Sustrans bike route, is a cracker too – did you get chance to explore that in your downtime? Looks like you had fab weather for it!
