The Baltic Sea Cycle Route: Finland

Finland ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ

Route classification: Under development

Irrespective as to how I arrive in Turku, I will continue along the coast of Finland following the EuroVelo 10 as far as Helsinki. My appetite for cycling in Russia isn’t great so in Helsinki I will take the ferry, either to Tallinn in Estonia or to St. Petersburg in Russia.

“The Finnish part of EuroVelo 10 starts in the most northerly part of the Baltic Sea. Following the coastline of the Bothnian Bay, you eventually reach the Vaasa region, where the Swedish coast is only 80 km away. The coastal towns of Oulu, Vaasa, Pori, and Rauma provide an opportunity for you to replenish your supplies along the way. Heading to Southern Finland, you will pass close to the ร…land Islands, an autonomous region within Finland, before arriving in Turku, the countryโ€™s former capital with rich heritage and the most beautiful archipelago in the world. From Helsinki, the current capital, the route continues to the border with Russia.”
