The Arrival Of Christmas

Christmas finally felt like Christmas at about 12.15 this afternoon. It started snowing and barely a quarter of an hour later, the children had left school for the two-week break. Two weeks and three days in fact which take in three glorious Sunday evenings when I don’t need to think about work on the following morning. I cycled home in the continuing snow shower, the thin layer of virgin snow impacting with a satisfying crack as my front wheel rolled over and along the road. I paused on the Oxfordshie-Berkshire border to take this wintery picture and then home. Home to a glass of crisp white wine, a comfy armchair and Rachmaninov on Classic FM. Christmas is definitely here.
