Cycling Day 27: Bath To Reading

It was 120 km, about half of which was along the Kennet & Avon Canal. Route 4 actually diverts away from the canal for a good stretch of the journey from Bath to Reading and the more consistent surface of the road was welcome. Then it was back to the rough tow path until I finally abandoned the canal for the A4 for the final few kilometres to Reading. I needed a drink after that and am now suffering the consequences… One cycling day to go. Today: London!

  1. Ah, Bath! I lived there from 1987 to 1999. Fab cycling along that towpath, to Bradford, eh! Presumably you’re doing the Thames Path into London? Should be lovely, especially after Windsor.

    • I have followed NCN route 4 for most of the last two days although I abandoned it this afternoon in order to get to Central London by 6pm to meet Stephen Fabes.

What do you think?
