Cycling Holidays In Andalucia

By Geoff Cumming

It is often said that the essence of Spain lies in the beautiful countryside, remarkable mountains, fascinating villages and the warmth and hospitality of the people of Andalucía.

Cycling Andalucía, a small, friendly cycle touring company, has recently started offering cycle tours in the heart of Andalucía, providing the opportunity for cyclists to visit some of the most scenic and interesting places in this fascinating region of southern Spain.

Enjoy a cycling holiday with welcoming villages, wonderful culture and delightfully quiet roads.  Follow trails and quiet country roads through olive groves and rolling hills, and visit the famed white villages of Andalucia – los pueblos blancos.

Stay in Olvera, the king of the white villages, home of Cycling Andalucía and starting point for the Vía Verde de la Sierra, a disused railway now used for cycling, walking and horse riding, and considered to be the most beautiful green-way in Andalucía, winding its way through 25 miles of beautiful countryside.

Choose between self-led or guided tours, challenging or easy days on the bike, or relaxing days off the bike.  Take the opportunity to enjoy local tapas and wine while exploring some of the wonderful villages, towns and cities of Andalucía.

Cycling Andalucía deliberately keep group sizes small and intimate – ideally no more than 5 people – to help increase the fun and enjoyment for our visitors.

Holidays can be tailored to suit the needs of individuals or groups of friends, with wonderful opportunities for non-cyclists – everything from visits to iconic Ronda and Seville, to trying your hand at pottery and painting.

Stay in wonderful hotels and enjoy the local food – Iberian hams, cheeses, tapas, tortilla and fresh seafood from the coast – accompanied by local wine from the Serrania de Ronda.

On Cycling Andalucia’s tours you will be captivated by the wonderful scenery, the hospitality of the local people, and the warmth of the sun. So come and join us as we explore the quiet roads and trails of rural Andalucia.
