Kevin Dennis has been in touch:
Hello Andrew,
We are Spoke ‘n’ Chain, a creative bicycle arts team that came to being in 2009 in Bristol, and discovered both the Eurovelo routes and Kamishibai this year. We are currently developing our workshop and performance techniques and rigging a Yuba bicycle in order to undertake a full blown bicycle storytelling theatre tour next year, beginning in April. We are also working in partnership with Nanoplex, The Cube Cinema on a Kamishibai storytelling workshop for schools and families with a European Whsipers idea. We plan to travel from Bristol to Plymouth, then to Bordeaux (twinned with Bristol) and Brest (twinned with Plymouth) along Eurovelo 1, performing and running workshops along the way, hopefully with support from Arts Council, England. We then intend to continue along Eurovelo 6 to Augsburg, where we have made contact with an arts group and can stay a while, and to continue on probably East a little and then up through Czech republic, Poland to Berlin, and then continue to explore the Eurovelo routes over the next few years! We would like to engage with the Eurovelo routes, make contact with groups, organisations that are connected with the routes, discover littler gems along the way, (such as Yarde Orchard along the Tarka Trail) perform our show, run workshops, screen films, take groups for fun rides, and collect stories.
Thank you
Kevin
That sounds great Kevin. Good luck with the cycling and the art.
