Linz to Krems: 130km
“I woke up at 6 a.m. I did not sleep well. It will take a few more nights of peaceful wild camping to put my mind at ease. Nevertheless, it meant I got an early start. I was riding towards the sunrise, the roads were quiet and there was a faint mist over the river. I really enjoy riding at this time of day and remember making a mental note to either wild camp more or wake up earlier.
I stopped at a bakery around 11am where I had a coffee and assortment of breads. One thing I find I am missing though, is the pretzel.
There is something really satisfying about having done 70km before lunch. Unfortunately, I was only half way to Krems so would be cycling most the afternoon too.
During the afternoon ride, the roads were busy with other cyclists, but not unbearably so. There are well-kept, dedicated bike paths 90 percent of the way. I got to Krems and relished the opportunity to shower and recharge (both phone and body). It had been a long day of cycling, but not the most strenuous.”
