The Great British Cycle Tour: The Film Première!

In these somewhat strange times, heading out to the cinema to watch a film, let alone attending a film première, might be off the agenda for most people. Yet today I can offer you the chance to do just that from the comfort of your own home. You are formally invited to the film premiere of The Great British Cycle Tour: The Film. The film premières on YouTube on Sunday 27th December at 6pm UK time (that’s GMT). Just click on the invite below and save the page:

The film recounts my quest to visit the four capitals of the United Kingdom in July and August of 2020, inspired by the epic journey of the American Maximilian J. St. George in 1912 and 1913. He visited almost every European capital of his day in a journey stretching over 16 months. That, alas, in our COVID-ravaged continent of 2020 would be impossible, but setting my sights on cycling to Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff and London, wouldn’t…

The film is available in 4K UHD and is 63 minutes in length. Below are a couple of short teaser videos.

See you on Sunday 27th December at 6pm UK time for the première… In the meantime, listen to the full story of Maximilian J. St. George’s early 20th century journey in this episode of The Cycling Europe Podcast from earlier this year:

  1. Thoroughly enjoyed this – even my non-cycling son watched with us. Put it onto the TV and great scenery. Brought back to many happy memories of places we have cycled and kayaked. Jozef asks did you have a chest mount and did you use your i-phone for the filming?
