
Camping de l’Aulnaie was beside a lake and for a modest €11 I was instructed to erect the tent on a small peninsula that jutted out into the water. Mindful of the heat and a forecast that suggested temperatures would not fall much below 20ºc, for the first time of the trip, I left the outer skin of the tent in its bag. Tonight it would be just the fine mesh of the inner tent that would seal me off from the elements (or any of my fellow campers who happened to be passing).
