Yeah, don’t trust map names! I’ve never heard anyone call it ‘Great Driffield’. I’ve heard plenty of people call it ‘Driff’, though. Initial syllables often suffice in the East Riding: ‘Pock'(-lington), ‘Brid'(-lington), ‘With'(-ernsea)…
