The Edinburgh Festival Of Cycling

It was an all-too-brief visit to Edinburgh to speak at the Edinburgh Festival of Cycling at the weekend, but a thoroughly enjoyable one. The event is now in its sixth year and spans across 18 days in June – there are still plenty of things going on until the 24th – my own small contribution (after a brief appearance on BBC Radio Scotland’s Out for the Weekend programme) being a talk at the Pleasance Cabaret Bar. The festival is run by husband and wife team Kim and Ulli Harding along with a number of volunteers and is a worthy addition to the Scottish capital’s other, perhaps more widely known annual festivals. Long may the Edinburgh Festival of Cycling flourish!

The formal duties done, I took time out on Saturday morning to explore the city on bike…

…and there was even a nice dis-used railway tunnel (isn’t there always?) where the urge to film wasn’t resisted…
