Along The Med… : Vocabulary Analysis

Courtesy of Wordle, here are the top 100 words contained in Along The Med on a Bike Called Reggie… (see comments below)Screen Shot 2014-08-04 at 10.18.54

The top 100 words do not include very common English words. The word ‘cycling‘ appears 568 times in the book but the word ‘but‘ rears its head some 1,272 times for example. ‘But‘ is only beaten by ‘have‘ which is there 3,319 times. The full top 20 is below:

The book uses a vocabulary of around 2,500 words according to VocabGrabber (which also generated the above list). Going back to the Wordle at the top, Greece, Italy and France are in there but, to my surprise, Albania, Croatia and Spain are not. I’m gratified that there is (almost) parity between ‘hotel‘ and ‘campsite‘. Well, hotel = 231, campsite (182) + camping (88) = 270. Makes me feel better… More Wordle stuff here.
