Warmshowers: New Website Coming On March 5th

The Warmshowers website has always been the weak link in the organisation. It never seems to have moved with the times and has been somewhat ‘clunky’ to use. Well, news arrives of an updated website. It looks as though they have started again from scratch rather than tweaking the old website (which is presumably why the site will be unavailable for 24 hours immediately before the new one being launched). Tuesday 5th March is the launch date. Not sure if the app is also changing.

Here’s a short video showcasing the changes:

The following three changes are being highlighted:

  • calendar management system for hosts to set availability and for guests to confirm stays
  • Increased search functionality and an improved location map for cyclists to easily find hosts
  • Expanded feedback systems that provide a rating system and detailed reviews of hosts and guests

It’s interesting scrolling through the list of people who I have stayed with over the years and the people who have stayed with me. It’s also reminded me that I need to update my feedback from 2022’s Grand Tour!
