If I ignore the shenanigans with the trains this morning, today has been a wonderful day of cycling. It had it all; great weather, interesting places, majestic landscapes, dramatic seascapes, bucolic cycle paths. Iโll be back after you take a look for yourself:
I imagined the Isle of Wight to be fairly flat, despite people having told me that it was hilly. I should have listened to them. But these are enjoyable hills. Gentle inclines in the main followed by descents that give you a few moments to catch your breath. Hereโs the route profile:

Over around 50 km of cycling, only 300 metres uphill but a similar number downhill but constant flipping back and forth between ascent and descent. Rather enjoyable. Here is the route in full.
The Needles were sillily busy do I didnโt hang around very long. There were plenty of treats elsewhere, especially at the Off The Rails cafรฉ in Yarmouth. The chocolate brownie didnโt survive long…

Looks like a wonderful day’s ride! Thanks for sharing.
I must get back on my bike – I am loving the vicarious travelling while I’m stuck at home caring.
Looks perfect. Fingers crossed, 2020 Will be the year I ride somewhere in England. You are proving some very nice ideas for me.
