The MS Lofoten docked in Bergen earlier this afternoon and I spent the afternoon having a good old wander around Norway’s second city and my new favourite Norwegian place. It’s charming! Tomorrow morning I catch the ferry to Denmark for an afternoon and overnight voyage south to Hirtshals. Things get complicated on Wednesday…

I had the pleasure of visiting Bergen – host of this year’s UCI World Championships – a few days after arriving at Nordkapp back in 2015. I recommend a visit… These pictures may tempt you to book a flight (or perhaps even cycle there).

Lucky guy, I have a friend who lives just outside. From the dining table has the most amazing view down a fjord. (I imagine almost everyone has one in these parts!)
