Today was spent in and around Estepona, the coastal Andalucian town where my uncle and his wife live. The bike having been delivered yesterday – I was expecting it today and was prepared for a long wait – I became a liberated man and we made the most of the opportunity to visit the centre of Estepona. My uncle’s boat was a nice place for an aperitive before eating out. However, before any of that frivolity could start, there was the serious business of rebuilding Reggie. The job was done 95% successfully. The back mudguard needs a little bending back into place and the tyres need inflating but these are small issues. When I return to Estepona in a few weeks time to pick him up I will probably, out of caution, hand him over to a local bike shop for a quick once over. Better safe that sorry. Tomorrow I travel to Cadiz – three and a half hours on a bus – for a month of learning Spanish. Much more of that over the weekend…
