In preparation for the visit of the Tour de France 2014 to my home region of Yorkshire, a bicycle show is being held in Leeds. Here’s the press release:
“Tour de France fever comes early to Leeds with the Yorkshire Bicycle Show”
“Across our region bicycle fever is growing. As 2014โs Grand Dรฉpart grows ever closer, cyclists across the North are preparing for a period of cycling celebrations. The good news is the fun is set to hit Leeds sooner than expected and the celebrations will begin early ยญ with the Yorkshire Bicycle Show.
Taking place in Leeds Town Hall over the weekend of 20ยญ22 September, the Show will be the first of its kind in the city. With a wide range of exhibitors from all varieties of cycling, visitors will enjoy a host of innovative bicycle products and designs, plus talks, displays and events throughout the whole weekend.
Organised by local businesses, the Show will demonstrate the best that Northern cycling has to offer, as well as giving an insight into innovations from across the UK and Europe. With local food and beers available, the Show promises to give cycling a good old Yorkshire welcome and kick off the countdown to 2014 with a bang.
About the Show
A broad spectrum of cycling products awaits visitors to the Show, with eyeยญcatching frames from Ted James Design, Feather Cycles, EDSbikes, Trek, Baldwin Titanium, Slate Cycles, Shed 6, Tokyo Fixed, Brother Cycles, Milk Bikes and Titchmarsh Cycles, along with tubing specialists Reynolds. An exciting selection of clothing and accessories from the traditional to the unusual will be available from GRIM, Georgia in Dublin, Fused, Milltag, Drink Tea Ride Bikes, Swrve, Impsport, ForceGB and Restrap, whilst a choice of beautiful media and prints will be on offer from Boneshaker and Coven magazines, Dynamo Works, Bike Tart, Anthony Oram and Rebecca J Kaye. Cyclewiz will provide visitors with a range of gadgets and gizmos whilst healthยญcompany Forever and Heart Research UK will be there to offer you advice and information.
Bicycle Shops Spa Cycles, Ellis Briggs, Yourspokes and Vertex Ride will be showing their wares, and Leeds Cycling Campaign, CTC and Sustrans will be providing visitors with useful information, tips and advice on their work within the region.
Welcome to Yorkshire will be giving visitors the chance to look first hand at the official Tour de France team car along with DM Keith Skoda and Bike V Design, fresh from the V&A and Design Museum, will be organising a collection of cycling events to interest all visitors. With main sponsors Road Cycling UK and Total Womenโs Cycling, the Show promises to be a funยญfilled, twoยญwheeled spectacle for every cyclist and their family.
Doors will open for trade and press on Friday afternoon from 3pm, with the main events taking place between 10am and 6pm on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September. Tickets are ยฃ5 in advance for adults, with under 12โs going free and are available online from the Showโs website. All advanced bookings will be entered into a free prize draw to win a complete bike from State Bicycle Co.”
