Slightly delayed departure this morning but I don’t mind in the least. It’s not every day that the owner of the hotel where you are staying gives you a private guided tour of a nearby ancient monument. The one in question was the one shown here – which is now the local town hall – with wonderful views from the windows of the top floor archives overlooking the main square and to the Andalusian countryside beyond. All courtesy of Begoña & Pablo (both proud Basques; they bought the hotel 18 months ago and moved to Andalusia) of the Hotel Neuve Leyendas. They didn’t even charge me for breakfast or for washing my clothes. Much recommended if you are ever in Obeda.
