On the whole a very enjoyable experience. If you follow the Eurovelo 6 you can expect a relatively flat ride and meet lots of other cycle tourists. Campsites are dotted all along the various rivers and it’s never really a problem finding accommodation. The weather was great! perhaps too hot!

My favourite country (although hard to choose) would have to be France. Perhaps it was because everything was new or that I could understand the road signs, but the main factor was that each little town had so much character.

This marks the end of my Eurovelo 6 route, thanks Andrew Sykes for re-posting my blog entries on cyclingeurope.org I really appreciate all your comments. I hope that it might help others who are planning on doing the Rivers Route in the future. If you have any questions feel free to contact me on mdkrog@gmail.com thanks for following!

The adventure continues for me as I make my way down to Rome.”

Thank-you Matt for such an engaging and inspiring travelogue. You should really write a book about the whole thing… Continue to follow Matt’s adventures at Matt’s Big Cycle Tour.

  1. Matt, am I mad, going to celebrate my 65th birthday going from Andorra (ex-ski instructor) to St. Malo by bike, how do I find info about eurovelo 1/5? Do the French have a specific site, help please, but not leaving until June 2013! Vivi
