Mary Ann Coupland and her friend Sally are about to head off on the Eurovelo 5. They have set up a Just Giving page to raise money for Cancer Research UK. Here is there story in their own words;

We are cycling from Boulogne sur Mer in France to Taranto in Southern Italy via the St Gottards Pass in Switzerland…a total of about 3000 kms. Mad we know but as our departure comes ever closer (April 30th 2011) we are getting very excited. We are doing it for many reasons. To keep fit, to challenge ourselves but also to support Cancer Research UK in their effort to chip away and find the reasons why someone develops this awful disease and their quest to find better treatments. We are both in our fifties and have lost too many friends in our age group in the last three years alone. We don’t have to raise money for this challenge but friends and family members have asked who we are going to support and it seemed too good an opportunity to miss.
