A New Bike for Christmas

I just opened my Christmas presents (it didn’t take long) and I have received a new bike! Here it… could be. As it’s not actually a new bike for me buy for someone who needs a new bike more than me in a developing country. The Oxfam Unwrapped website tells me that “Two wheels good … in many countries, the humble pushbike is the choice of everyone, including community nurses, midwives and teachers. Rugged, energy-efficient and cost-effective, sometimes only ‘one-wheel drive’ vehicles will keep the wheels turning where motor vehicles fear to tread.” Quite! You can read more at the Oxfam Unwrapped website. Receiving this kind of gift does make me slightly less guilty about stuffing my face with turkey in a few hours time….
