It’s a bit of a shock arriving on Alberobello; there are people and cars everywhere. There is even a car alarm going off every 30 seconds! I came here three years ago on my previous visit to see Basil and Liz so I’m not going to stick around for too long.
Alberobello is famed for its concentration of Trulli buidlings – the conical roofed dwellings you can see in the picture. I suppose it’s Puglia’s answer to Matera without the stressed-out postman.
All I want to do is buy and consume an ice-cream and then it will be off to Cisternino to meet up with Basil & Liz. I hope they are in. It would be very embarrassing for all concerned if they had gone away for the weekend. I think I told them I was coming….
