The Three Peaks In Three Weeks: Part Three, Ben Nevis

The challenge is accomplished!

Three peaks in three weeks? I didn’t need all 21 days in the end, just 18. OK, plenty of people do the national three peaks in 24 hours. On a physical level, I take my hat off to them. But then again, speed isn’t really my style. If you’ve read the books you’ll know that and I’m content that I set myself an objective and achieved it.

The visit to Scotland – involving two long drives from West Yorkshire to Fort William and then back again taking six hours each – added to the challenge of climbing to the summit of Ben Nevis but, unlike my visits to Scafell Pike and Snowdonia, I did take an extra day in my destination to take in the local area: see the previous post, ‘Welcome To… Fort William‘. That half of my visit to the Highlands features in the video but if you’d like to cut to the chase (well, the hiking) that starts in earnest at 3 minutes 30 seconds.

Next up? Back on the bike and cycling 300 miles in September in aid of Cancer Research
