Yorkshire… And Cambridgeshire(!) Day: LIVE

12:33am: Talk went very well. Good crowd of 30ish. It’s been a long day. Another two hours until home… Goodnight from Leicester Forest East.

5:55pm: Bicycles and… err… cows:

5:45pm: Business on the Cam is brisk. Well, there seem to be lots of punters… (I’ll get my coat…)

5:40pm: Lots more bicycles, and rain… but poor Bill Posters not welcome…

5:20pm: Just checking… (this is Heffers, not Waterstone’s)…

5:15pm: Finally exploring Cambridge. There is, as you might imagine, no shortage of bicycles…

4:50pm: A short video summarising this morning’s events at The Piece Hall:

3:45pm: Arrived in Cambridge… very pretty… lots of cyclists… found city centre car park… suffer heart failure upon realising it would cost ยฃ24 to park until the end of tonight’s talk(!)… decamp to slightly-out-of-town Asda until 5pm after which time it’s 80 pence per hour…

1:25pm: The less glamorous part of the day; coffee at a service station next to the A1 en route to Cambridge…

10:30am: Time to head south to Cambridgeshire…

10:25am: The band plays on…

10:05am: The wonderful architecture of Halifax’s Georgian Piece Hall

10am: And now the even more official bit…

9:48am: The official bit…

9:35am: Your compare is Harry Gration…

9:30am: It’s open!

9:29am: Nearly there…

9:20am: The great and the good of Halifax assemble…

9am: Well, almost… And almost ‘live’. A big day for Yorkshire and especially Halifax today with the reopening of the Piece Hall. More of that in about half an hour when the doors open. It may be Yorkshire Day but I’m spending most of it in Cambridgeshire, in Cambridge itself as I’m speaking at an event at the Friends’ Meeting House on Jesus Lane at 7:30pm. Come along! Now… time to finish that coffee. More updates later.
