“An inspiration To Me And… Other Cycle Tourists”

I have spent much of my time in the last few months marketing the new book, Spain to Norway on a Bike Called Reggie (there I go again…), and, perhaps as a result, there has been renewed interest in books one and two. A new review appeared yesterday for Along The Med on a Bike Called Reggie. It’s the kind of review that makes it all feel worthwhile. Thanks Alasdair.

“As someone who has returned to cycle touring relatively late in life having read both this book and its predecessor, Crossing Europe on a Bike Called Reggie, I am full of admiration for Andrew Sykes and Reggie. Covering nearly 6.000 kilometres during the school holidays was,in itself, a great feat and the fact that Andrew was unaccompanied almost throughout makes it even more impressive.

The book however was about more than the cycling. Andrew writes informatively and wittily about the places he visited and the people he met along the way.

Having read Andrew’s books and having [taken] advantage of his experiences as told in them, I now feel inspired to go with my bike (no name) along some of the roads that he has travelled.

Thank you Andrew, you are an inspiration to me and, I am sure, other cycle tourists.”
