The Adventure Cycle Festival

The weekend after the wonderful Cycle Touring Festival in Clitheroe – tickets are still available – where I will be speaking about cycling from Spain to Norway… comes The Adventure Cycle Festival. ‘Adventure cycling’ seems to be ‘cycle touring’ with less luggage. Here’s how the organisers describe the event:

“The Adventure Cycle Festival was created with the primary aim of inspiring more people to use their bike as an adventure vehicle and to act as a forum for like-minded people to get together.

Whether you are a seasoned adventure cyclist or a complete newcomer, looking to get your first taste of adventure on two wheels, the Adventure Cycling Festival has a whole host of activities to keep you entertained. Set in the beautiful grounds of Brathay Hall, the festival village is the perfect place to enjoy all the activities and entertainment on hand.

There will be workshops with seasoned bike packers, where you can learn all the best tricks and tips for surviving in the wild on your bike. Find out how to set up your perfect adventure bike and how to cook tasty and nutritious food on the go. Learn how to document your adventures so you can share your experiences with your family and friends. Whatever the adventure youโ€™re planning, weโ€™ll have experts who can help you on your way.”

Prepare yourself for a busy half-term… Here’s the schedule for 2017:
