Cycling Day 94: The First Official Sign

Here it is. The first official road sign. 240 km. That’s 3 x 80 km which just happens to be my current average. I like that. Today is Sunday which means that Norway shuts down. Unless you drive a car and need fuel. It’s a strange notion that the car has taken such a place of supremacy in the eyes of the world that nobody ever questions why service stations have always opened on a Sunday. They do at least provide cyclists with fuel in the form of food of course; I’ve just filled up at the Esso station in Alta. Chatted to a young Norwegian cyclists who is heading south. He wasn’t a fan of the 7 km tunnel but he didn’t consider it at all dangerous which is good. Onwards to Nordkapp…
