If you go down to your local newsagent today, you’re sure of a big surprise. Well, a nice little one at least. A couple of months ago, I was interviewed by a journalist called David Motton who writes for Britain’s top-selling cycling magazine, Cycling Plus. He was in the process of putting together a feature for the magazine about touring and called upon my expert (!) opinion. In a tradition that only magazine publishers can probably explain, the July edition of Cycling Plus has been published this week (yes, the end of May…) and my words of wisdom can be read along with those of Chris Juden of the Cyclists’ Touring Club (CTC), Colin Thomson of Spa Cycles (remember them?) the country’s leading specialist cycle touring shop in Harrogate & Vin Cox who cycled the World in record-breaking time a couple of years ago. Even @ReggieTheBike gets a mention (in passing) & what illustrious cycling company we keep. You’ll find the article, called 10 Steps to Touring on page 182 along with a few more articles in what is branded a ‘touring special’ edition of Cycling Plus. Well worth a trip down to WHSmith’s; you might even take a copy down to the woods with you…
