Halifax, West Yorkshire

Just returned from a very quick overnight visit to Yorkshire to see family. I didn’t cycle up there but did hire a car and took the opportunity this morning to revisit the towns of Halifax & Huddersfield. The former has a small but relatively unknown jewel in its crown; the Piece Hall, the oldest existingย such structure of its kind in the country (1779, originally built to be a market place for the selling of locally-producedย cloth). It is looking a bit tatty however and I do hope they get the lottery money they have applied for to make some improvements. That’s why I keep buying lottery tickets…
