Bracciano

As you can see it has a big castle! It’s a bit similar to Bolsena in that it sits next to and gives its name to a lake. Apart from that, can’t really tell you that much about it. I probably never will as it is mere curiosity and a few moments out of the saddle that have lead me down into the centre; I’ll soon be heading to Rome.
The weather is brighter and the rain has stopped. Even the temperature is more pleasant than it was when I last posted. Just after I sent the previous missive I had a little tantrum to myself with lots of swear words. It seemed to get much of the frustration out of my system but I must have looked like a candidate for care in the community.
I reckon it’s another 40 kms or so to Rome so I should be there by 6pm. Marcello (not Claudio!) has been in contact and it is just a matter of following his instructions once I arrive. Marcello: I just texted you asking for a good place to meet – check your messages and see you later this afternoon ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Thanks – my moral is now restored despite the wind and the fallen tree blocking my path on the outskirsts of the city. Arrived at Marcello’s flat and I am clean and about to be fed…. What more could I ask for?

  2. Your Italian friends will correct me if I’m wrong but I believe the Romans are known in Italy for their sense of humour so hopefully yours will return before your arrival in the eternal city! It never ceases to amaze how quickly you’re getting around, eventhough I know you’re not rushing. Enjoy your time in Rome – I hope you don’t sit down for a meal tonight and see the French family from last night have also made their way south – would be funny though! All the best.
